Corrosion Control

All metals deteriorate and will fail but with proper maintenance and care their lifespan can be extended than if they were not maintained. Aluminum corrodes just as steel but the the corrosion on aluminum can be deceptive since it is white, pewter, gray, and sometimes black in color. Aluminum is porse in nature and is damaged when exposed to chemicals such as acids aluminum brighteners, degreasers, gallium, salt by opening the pores up and flushing them out promoting corrosion, leaving a white appearance and rough physical surface. This is not aesthetic by it structural damage as well since the aluminum has a swiss cheese structure imagine the holes becoming bigger and bigger and the supporting structure becoming thinner which causes the structural integrity to be compromised. 


EXQUISITEMAD® proprietary process replenishes the surface pores with compounds & polishes there by resealing the metal helping to prevent contamination, oxidation and producing the best luster and or reflection as possible. Surface condition dictates how much shine, reflection or color is produced, as nothing will ever be new, look like new, no matter what is done wear and tear takes its toll. Age is no correlation to condition as wear and tear can occur suddenly within minutes of improper care and maintenance. 

Maintenance & Inspection 

Tanker Trailers, Tanker Truck, Bobtail Tankers are subject to thickness test, pressure pressurization test, pre trip inspections and more. 

EXQUISITEMAD® provides a service that allows for a cleaner surface to allow inspections and testing to be performed on tanker traucks and trailers by producing the most clean, reflective, and lusturious surface as possible as dictated by the pre existing surface condition. EXQUISITEMAD does not sand tanks in accordance with DOT 406 Specifications, DOT  49 CFR 180.407(i). Additional requirements are found in §178.320(a), §178.345-2, §178.346-2, §178.347-2, and §178.348-2. The shell and head thickness of all unlined CTs used for the transport of materials corrosive to the tank must be 76 measured at least once every 2 years, except CTs measuring less than the sum of the minimum prescribed thickness plus one-fifth of the original corrosion allowance, which must test annually.

Temperature Control 

At a glace a polished surface can be aesthetically pleasing but it also serves a scientific purpose of deflecting radiation also known as heat. ”  EMISSIVITY the relative power of a surface to emit heat by radiation : the ratio of the radiant energy emitted by a surface to that emitted by a blackbody at the same temperature. In layman’s terms. Emissivity is the ability for radiant heat to leave the surface of an object. It matters not what the density, mass or thickness of the object, only the surface.  Aluminum, polished .04% heat is absorbed compared to aluminum that is oxidized absorbs .78% of heat. ”  Source: Handbook of Chemistry and Physics
