The shell and head thickness of all unlined CTs used for the transport of materials corrosive to the tank must be 76 measured at least once every 2 years, except CTs measuring less than the sum of the minimum prescribed thickness plus one-fifth of the original corrosion allowance, which must test annually.

Thermal expansion also known as fuel expansion occurs at any temperature above 60 degrees Fahrenheit meaning if your customer who the fuel is being delivered to is ordering 2000 gallons and the fuel that is in the delivery tanker measures the fuel volume at a high temperature then when the fuel is delivered in the customers climate controlled tank the fuel will lose volume therefore shorting the customers order. This causes a decrease in bottom line profits by either refunding the customer, or providing the customer with delivery of the fuel, which then causes logistical delays, increased man hours and pay for employees, ware and tear on equipment, and damaged relationship with your customer, and brand image across the marketplace. Food Grade produces such as milk are highly susceptible to heat therefore polishing the metal to mirror finish can prevent the food grade product from spoilage.
